The innovation award goes to... Starlight!
Starlight awarded Top 10 for Innovation
Starlight's culture is all about innovation, so we're excited to have been ranked 9th in The Australian Financial Review's Most Innovative Companies list, in the Government, Education and NFP category.
The AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies list recognises the most innovative organisations in Australia and New Zealand, as judged by an expert panel assembled by The Australian Financial Review and Inventium.
Now in their 8th year, over 800 companies took part in the Awards this year.
Judges segmented the awards into 10 industry-focused categories and assessed an innovation that had been implemented over the past 12 months and how innovation is embedded in the organisation.
The award was in recognition of our Starlight Moments program.
This new program works in partnership with health professionals to support the specific needs of families with a child or young person in palliative care.
Starlight Moments provides individually tailored experiences to each family. These experiences are built around 'the little things' and are about joy, relief, distraction and connection.
Starlight Moments help bring lasting happiness and create important family memories.
Currently, the program is being piloted at the Royals Children's Hospital in Victoria and at the Children's Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children's Hospital in New South Wales.
The award is a testament to the whole Starlight team's commitment to innovation.
At Starlight, innovation is defined as 'change that adds value' and is embedded in our culture.
Our approach places the needs of the child at the centre of all we do and thanks to Inventium, we have a range of tools and resources to support our teams on their own innovation journeys to help brighten the lives of sick kids and their families.
A big thank you to everyone involved and for being part of this important achievement!
