People & Culture
Under the guidance of Susan Henry, twice nominated for Australian HR Director of the year, our People and Culture team are an integral part of Starlight.
Ensuring the overall team is aligned, engaged and high performing, our People and Culture team make Starlight a great place to work.
From recruitment and onboarding to workplace safety and wellbeing to learning and development, we advance best practise and enable success within each of Starlight’s teams.
Finance & Operations
Responsible for a number of vital areas, including financial administration, reporting and governance, our IT network and data management, the Finance and Operations team is a balance of talented interns and professionals.
Digitally savvy and with the mindset to be faster, smarter and more mobile, we’ve found that working together to giving team members the opportunity to learn from each other results in high levels of efficiency and productivity.
Our Fundraising team is responsible for raising the funds to make everything we do possible.
Consisting of corporate and community fundraising, individual regular giving, major donors and philanthropy relationship management plus campaigns and major events, our fundraising team of driven professionals utilise their sales, relationship management and event/project management expertise.
Our Programs team is highly diverse! From being at the ‘frontline’ delivering our Captain Starlight, Livewire and Wishgranting programs to overseeing project management and development to research and evaluation, our Programs team ensures Starlight continues to meet the ever-growing need for our impactful programs.
You’ll find some unique roles in our Programs team.
Our Captain Starlights chat hosts are professional actors, musicians, magicians and comedians and include graduates from Australia’s leading drama schools including NIDA. Our Livewire Chat hosts are people with have an interest in pro social behaviours within adolescents, who have an interest and experience with online communications.
Brand & Communications
Our Brand and Communications team have the enviable task of sharing Starlight’s mission and stories with the community.
The team is responsible for developing, implementing and driving our marketing and communications strategy, leading the creative design and promotion of our campaigns and events and spreading the word through impactful PR. We also manage all our digital platforms including websites, social media and eDMs.
