New Randwick Starlight Express Room officially open!
There were more than a few special guests on hand
With the new room boasting a swish, fully working kitchen, who better to officially cut the ribbon than Starlight Ambassador Neil Perry AM.
The celebratory rocket ship cake had kids wide eyed and we're sure is a taste of the culinary masterpieces to come from the new Starlight Express Room kitchen!
To meet growing demand, the new Starlight Express Room has moved to a much larger and brighter space, giving sick kids and their families the room to relax and play and take time out from the stress and strains of being in hospital.
With a dedicated arts and crafts zone, interactive gaming facilities and even a cool recording booth, the new multipurpose space will be abuzz with fun and creativity for kids and teenagers seven days a week.
For 17-year-old Emma, the Starlight Express Room has helped make hospital a much happier place as she endured months of treatment for cancer.
The new Starlight Express Room was only made possible thanks to the generosity of local Founding Partners, corporate supporters, philanthropists and family trusts including The MacKenzie Family, Mamma Lena & Dino Gustin Foundation, Thyne Reid Foundation, David and Anna Cobcroft and Chain Reaction. The room was also supported by the incredible team at Lendlease.
Thank you to everyone who came along to this milestone celebration. Because of your support, sick kids and teens have a vibrant new space where fun and laughter are the icing on the cake!
