Sarah's story

Helping teens connect

Through Livewire, our online community for seriously ill teens, your support helps young people aged 12-20 connect with others who understand what they are going through.

Having turned 21, Sarah has just graduated from Livewire.

Before she left, she wrote a heart-warming thank you message about the positive impact Livewire created.

Well this will be my last post as a Livewire member!

I just want to say firstly a massive thanks to all the amazing hosts that have made my time here amazing. I have enjoyed every chat I have had with all the Hosts past and present. I have really appreciated the support when I needed it the most through the toughest times and when I am feeling a bit down.

Livewire made me feel really included and understood. It made me feel very happy and has opened up the world to me. Life before Livewire was pretty tough for me. A lot of the time I would just want to be left alone in my room and not to talk to anyone. But thanks to Livewire online, I have changed, and I have loved it. It’s crazy to think I have been here for 10 years! But now the door opens to some exciting adventures ahead.

And massive thanks to everyone online and I will miss every single one of you. Anyway guys, thanks!

Sarah is now a volunteer Livewire mentor helping other teenagers find the happiness and connections like she did.  What an inspiration!
