Together with the team at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, Starlight Children’s Foundation (Starlight) will jointly host its annual Christmas Party in the Starlight Express Room at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick on Wednesday 11 December, where sick kids and their families can enjoy an afternoon of festive fun with Captain Starlight and special guests.

Alongside the Caring for Carers Working Group at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, the whole hospital will be transformed into a Xmas Xtravaganza!

Featuring a Captain Starlight pantomime with special guests including Starlight Ambassadors Timomatic, Matt Suleau and Jed Holloway, Waratah’s players, Johnny Ruffo, Biathlon athlete Alexei Almoukov, Athletics star Jessica Thornton, Santa Claus, and an afternoon BBQ at Sunny's Cafe, it will be a day to remember for sick kids and their families spending the holiday season in hospital.

This December, over 44,000 sick kids are expected to be admitted to children's hospitals nationally.

At Sydney Children's Hospital alone, Starlight will deliver over 2000 positive Starlight experiences for sick kids during the festive season, through Starlight Express Room visits and Captain Starlight 'Rocket Rounds' for kids too sick to leave their ward beds.

Captain Starlight also travels to hospitals across NSW, visiting almost 140 children every month.

Captain Starlights are professional performers who use their skills in comedy, acting, music and art to entertain sick kids. While health professionals focus on treating illness, Captain Starlight delivers positive healthcare promotion that helps to prevent illness and improve wellbeing.

Starlight is the broadest reaching children's charity in Australia, with a Starlight Express Room in every major children's hospital nationally.

Starlight relies on the community for support. Every $39 will provide a sick child with access to its vital hospital services, and keep programs running seven days a week.

Starlight is hoping to raise $741 000 to help give happiness to sick kids during the festive season.
