A corporate challenge like no other

Since its launch in 2008, the Great Adventure Challenge has grown from a small adventure race in NSW to be one of the most highly sought after corporate races in Australia. There are others, but there is only one Great Adventure Challenge!

Now run in two states, the Challenge attracts hundreds of people each year who are keen to test their mind and body and importantly, make a difference to the lives of sick kids by fundraising for Starlight Children's Foundation.

Participants splashing through muddy water during the Great Adventure ChallengeThe Great Adventure Challenge is an exciting, demanding and fun race covering a range of activities from mountain biking, trail running and kayaking. The race inspires and motivates teams to battle the elements and to problem solve to overcome unexpected obstacles. The focus is about working, training and competing together as a team and it's this sense of shared achievement that brings teams back year on year.

To compete, teams must raise a minimum of $10,000 and thanks to the generous spirit of so many dedicated supporters, teams often raise in excess of $20,000. This money supports Starlight's hospital and Wishgranting programs for sick kids and teens right across Australia.

Thank you for supporting us, we felt so proud of participating in such a worthwhile event - after all, the purpose of the GAC is to take care of the kids who so desperately need it. We'll be back next year!

The feedback from participants is overwhelmingly positive and uniquely, the Challenge benefits both employees and their employers. The Challenge is recognised by many corporates as an opportunity to create high performing teams by providing a focus towards a common goal and a shared purpose. It also gives them the opportunity to be actively involved in the community and to support the health and wellbeing of their people.

Participants kayaking in the Great Adventure Challenge"We had an awesome day. It was rewarding both at an individual and team level. We learned a lot from the day and jumped hurdles that we were not aware we were capable of," said Chris, Deloitte Senior Manager.

Now in its 10th year, The Great Adventure Challenge goes from strength to strength, testament to its valuable role in improving team performance and building workplace engagement – all while helping thousands of sick kids.
