The Give Initiative - the power of positivity
"Life isn't measured by how rich you are when you die, but how many people you help along the way."
Inspired by people who do amazing things, and with a strong desire to make a positive impact, Alex Stiles realised that he had all he needed to make a difference: a heartbeat and 24 hours in a day. With a passion to help others, Alex resonated with Starlight's mission to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families, and he couldn't think of a better way to kick off The Give Initiative than by helping to give sick kids a reason to smile.
Through The Give Initiative Alex is donating half of his salary, every month for the rest of this year, to charity. He is also hoping to inspire others to participate and match his donations. In July he has generously chosen to support Starlight, and is encouraging those following his journey to do the same.
Though early in his journey, Alex has faced road blocks when people who told him what he’s trying to achieve is impossible. To these challengers he would simply ask: if it were able to be done, what would I have to do? Surprised at how often things were possible the whole time, he adopted a new life philosophy: anything is possible.
Humbled by stories shared with him from strangers, and those close to him, through The Give Initiative Alex is hoping to achieve a real-time positive impact through donations, raising awareness, and inspiring others to go out and fight for their dreams.
Does Alex's initiative inspire you to help sick kids? There are loads of way that you can fundraise, find out how you can help!
