THE FUN HAS OFFICALLY BEGUN IN PERTH!
A new Starlight Express Room is a cause for celebration.
Thank you to everyone involved in yesterday's stellar celebration as we officially opened our brand-new Starlight Express Room at the new Perth Children's Hospital!
The Starlight Express Room is no stranger to VIPs, so our incredible Starlight Ambassadors Herb Faust and Mike Hussey were on hand to help eight-year-old Sahara officially cut the ribbon to let the fun begin!
When she's in the Starlight Express Room, Sahara loves doing art and craft with Captain Starlight and the new room has an even bigger and brighter art and craft space where creativity knows no bounds!
Thanks also to the Fremantle Dockers Player Ambassadors Lachie Neale, Bradley Hill, Andrew Brayshaw, Griffin Logue and Dana Hooker for playing such a big part in the launch celebrations (and lighting up the faces of fans young and old!).
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter thanked guests and supporters including our five Foundation Partners – The Stan Perron Charitable Trust, Mr Kerry Harmanis, Mr Tony and Mrs Milvia Poli, the WA Government through Lotterywest and BHP.
She also thanked other supporters including Bankwest Foundation, Azure Capital Foundation, Tate Family Foundation, Livewire Ward and Workshop Sponsor Channel 7 Telethon Trust.
"Residing in Western Australia's recent billion-dollar hospital infrastructure, the new Starlight Express Room is a treatment-free, bright space where kids can laugh, be creative and play and forget they're sick - while still in hospital."
Sick kids and their families will be able to enjoy the sun-filled outdoor space, the fabulous new kitchen and all the latest technology and gaming you could wish for.
The new room is of course home to our super hero of fun Captain Starlight who kept everyone entertained with fun, games, jokes and more.
A very big thank you to everyone who came along to mark this very special launch. The morning was an inspirational event celebrating the positive power of fun and laughter and the long-term difference our supporters make in the lives of sick kids!
