Splashing good times at the South Australia Extravaganza
The rain went out to sea, the sun came out to shine and Captain Starlight came down from Planet Starlight for our last Starlight Extravaganza of the year in South Australia.
Sick kids and their families enjoyed a fun-filled day at The Beachouse with a world of entertainment from unlimited water slides to bumper boats, dodgem cars, mini golf, arcade games, a carousel train and a play castle.
Everyone had a splashing good time and it seemed getting wet was not optional on the bumper boats!
Starlight Extravaganzas help families with a seriously ill child enjoy a break from the stress of hospital and treatment and the chance to meet up with others in similar situations. For kids, it's all about fun!
One family travelled a six-hour round trip to attend their 'favourite day of the year', other families were all smiles as they saw familiar faces and for others, they enjoyed the chance to experience all the fun of the Beachhouse - something they'd not be able to do on their own.
After the thrill of the rides, kids and families came together at picturesque Glenelg beach for lunch and carnival activities of face-painting, a glitter bar, a roving magician and circus workshops where kids learnt plate spinning, hula hooping and ribbon twirling.
To top the day off, we also had a surprise visit from the North Pole... Santa Claus popped by to say ho, ho, ho to the kids!
A huge thanks to all our amazing supporters for helping make the Starlight Extravaganza such a memorable day. To our friends at The Beachouse and Bank SA - we simply couldn't do it without you.
