Raising smiles for sick kids
Calling all Aussie primary schools!
We’re going to create a smile movement and we want you to play a part.
Ever wondered how your school could help Captain Starlight bring smiles to sick kids around Australia?
Our Starlight Smile Project inspires children to raise smiles (and dollars) by performing sponsored acts of kindness in their community. Funds raised will in turn bring smiles to the faces of seriously ill children and their families Australia-wide.
Can you imagine anything better than Australian children feeling inspired to be the nicest, kindest or the most helpful?
Underpinned by the principles of positive psychology, the Starlight Smile Project spreads smiles in the community in much the same way Starlight does in hospitals.
Whether it’s watering a neighbour’s plants while they’re away, helping mum cook dinner for a week or collecting rubbish from the school oval for five lunchtimes, Smile Raisers experience the emotional rewards that good behaviour brings.
Our Starlight Smile Project runs throughout the year and your school can participate at any time.
To register visit starlightsmileproject.org.au.
Your school can also teach kids to be kind through many other fundraising opportunities. Support Starlight with a gold coin donation event. Organise a:
- colouring competition
- treasure hunt
- dress up day
- fun run
- car wash day
- cake stall
