Hello 2019 and hello to our first Starlight Extravaganza of the year!

Sydney's Centennial Park was the perfect place for Starlight kids and families to enjoy a fun day out away from the stress and pain of hospital and treatment.

Thanks (again!) to our very good friends at Atlassian, we combined our events to make the day an unforgettable festival of family fun and laughter.

More than 330 smiling Starlight families enjoyed the day and the chance to meet other families in similar situations. For kids, it was a day to forget all about doctors and hospitals!

The Extravaganza was a haven of carnival rides, performances, everyone's favourite characters, hair braiding, hand painting and more. There were belly laughs aplenty at laughing yoga!

Among the VIPS was our super Starlight Ambassador Liv Phyland who came along to join in the fun.

Captain Starlight kept the kids entertained with games and songs and even a few dodgem car challenges.

The kids were wide-eyed getting up close to some furry friends and even cooler reptiles.

We had our very own Starlight Hub for families to chill out and recharge. Littlies loved the colouring-in and building blocks, while parents and carers relaxed in a sea of purple and yellow bean bags!

All that fun made for hungry tummies. So there were food trucks galore to satisfy all cravings from Mexican, to Texan, to Poke bowls, bratwurst dogs, ice-creams, and did someone say slushies?

It was an unforgettable day for sick kids and their families to spend valuable time together.

A HUGE thanks to Atlassian for their generosity welcoming us to their event for the second year running. What a way to kick start our 2019 Extravaganzas!
